Mindfulness
Mindfulness and Meditation is also used in therapy sessions.
Both hypnosis and mindfulness combine Eastern and Western approaches, use guided imagery meditation and visualisation to achieve a trance state or ‘Altered State of Consciousness (ASC).
Both can use guided imagery, visualisation, and focusing-orientation to achieve the altered state but also a heightened awareness to senses. Therefore the common understanding of relaxation is not necessarily the purpose but is often achieved as a by-product to the session.
Their common concepts are being present in the ‘here and now’ and focusing on your breath and providing breath control training, anxiety management and building resilience. They encourage the client to learn to relax and let go of the past and the future, in order to be fully alive at the present time, maintain focus and achieve a more full and non-judgemental, accepting experience; achieving an altered state of mind.
They can also be deemed and used very differently, depending on the needs of the person at that time.
Some people see that mindfulness is about freeing the mind of constant suggestions in life, and can be known as de-hypnosis.
It is important to mention that Hypnotherapy does use suggestions, when a client wishes this to happen in therapy.
It also uses the same ‘mind freeing’ techniques as mindfulness in order for a client to enter into a calmer mind in order for them to make their own self-healing suggestions using metaphors in guided imagery and visualisations.
I will tailor your therapy sessions to you and will be guided by you.
Offering both face to face and online sessions.
